Mrs. Dopp's PBL Project

Students in Mrs. Dopp's Music Appreciation classes participated in a Project Based Learning (PBL) assignment during the month of April.  Students were asked to use technology to teach a lesson in Music Appreciation.  They were given a main question:

100 Years From Now........How Will You Teach About Our Time Period of Music?
As an alternative, they could teach any music appreciation lesson targeting any of the 13 grade level expectations (GLE) from the curriculum.  They were encouraged to use technology since this is such an  important part of the age.  However, to give them ownership in project design, they were told they could design the project totally to their liking.  Students were given 3 weeks of class time in the music technology lab to complete their projects.
To motivate them, students were competing for the top project award in each class (as determined by student vote).  The 4 winning teams were taken on a field trip to present their projects to junior high music students and out to lunch.
